The high temple of Jamaican funk, Hampden Estate is a rum that is venerated by spirits lovers. Through the use of muck, dunder and more, Hampden is capable of making a dizzying array of styles or marques of rum that range from ripe tropical fruit through to examples with astounding levels of funky esters.
Commercial buying director Dawn Davies MW is joined by rum legend Dani Biondi from La Maison & Velier to host a celebration of Hampden Estate with all ticket sales going to charity. Jamaica was hit hard by Hurricane Melissa in October 2025, causing widespread devastation across the island. To help support our friends in Jamaica to rebuild after the hurricane, The Whisky Exchange is hosting a series of fundraising initiatives in 2026 of which this tasting is one. Both ticket sales and £6 from every bottle of Hampden Estate 1753 sold will be donated via The Association of Jamaicans (UK) Trust and their Hurricane Melissa Appeal.
Last year saw the release of the 1753 which joined the 8 Year Old and HLCF Classic (that’s short for Hampden Light Continental Flavoured) as part of the core range and which form the first three rums of this tasting. As a counterpoint to the Classic, we’ll also be tasting our exclusive Hampden Estate HLCF 2023 Sherry Cask A3. Bringing together a blend of marques Hampden Great House Distillery Edition 2025 will be a showcase of the distillery’s character before a final rum, the much anticipated Hampden 15 Year Old.

Getting there

4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
