The oldest wine house in
Champagne, Gosset has a long and venerable history, which has
charted the history of Champagne. Their earliest history was in
creating stills wines but these in this decidely cool region of
Champagne had a habit of undergoing an unwanted secondary
fermentation, which could vary from a delicate spritz to something
frankly explosive. By the 18th Century, Gosset had started to
produce intentionally sparkling wines using a distinctively shaped
flask that is still used today, and pioneering a style that has
conquered the world.
On 19 November, we are delighted to be welcoming Odilon de Varine from Gosset. Working in Champagne for more than 3 decades and now the Cellar Master at Gosset, de Varine has a refined approach to winemaking that looks to balance tradition and innovation.
This will be a sit-down masterclass with Gosset Grande Reserve,
Grand Rosé and Grand Blanc de Blancs. We will then taste Gosset's
more prestigious offerings, the Gosset Grand Millesime, Celebris
and 21 Ans de Cave a Minima.
